Reinforces commitment to engineering excellence, youth development and career readiness
JMG Limited, a leading provider of integrated electromechanical solutions in Nigeria, has reaffirmed its commitment to developing the next generation of engineering professionals through its sponsorship and participation in the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE) Student Federation, Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) Chapter induction ceremony held on Friday, 30 October 2026.
The ceremony brought together aspiring
engineers, academic representatives and industry stakeholders to induct new
members into the professional body and discuss the skills and opportunities
shaping the future of engineering.
A major highlight was a career development
session facilitated by Anthony Chikeluba Uzokwe, Recruitment Specialist at JMG
Limited, who encouraged students to begin preparing for the demands of the
professional world before graduation.
He urged participants to build strong CVs,
acquire relevant technical and soft skills, and establish a credible
professional presence on LinkedIn to expand their networks and improve access
to career opportunities. He also stressed that academic qualifications must be
complemented by practical skills and deliberate career planning to remain
competitive in today’s job market.
“Students must be intentional about preparing
for the careers they aspire to. Beyond academic qualifications, developing
specialised skills, building a strong professional profile and creating
meaningful networks are important steps towards becoming competitive in today’s
job market,” Uzokwe said.
Through its sponsorship and direct engagement
with students, JMG provided industry perspectives on the transition from
academic learning to professional engineering practice, highlighting the
importance of aligning classroom knowledge with workplace expectations.
The participation reflects JMG’s continued
support for engineering education and youth development, as well as its
commitment to strengthening the talent pipeline needed to advance Nigeria’s
engineering and industrial sectors.
