Anglican
Methodist Modern/Secondary School, Ajagba, Oyo, has announced plans to
celebrate its 70th Founder’s Day Anniversary, marking seven decades of
commitment to academic excellence, moral discipline, and the nurturing of
responsible leaders who have contributed meaningfully to society.
The landmark celebration, scheduled to hold from Monday, March 30 to Saturday, April 4, 2026, is designed not only as a reunion of alumni, staff, students, and stakeholders but also as a strategic opportunity to mobilise support for the growth and development of the institution. The anniversary is expected to attract old students, education enthusiasts, community leaders, corporate organisations, philanthropists, and well-meaning Nigerians from across the country and in the diaspora.
As part of
efforts to strengthen infrastructure, enhance learning facilities, and sustain
the school’s proud legacy, the organising committee is passionately appealing
for financial support, project sponsorship, and material donations from individuals,
corporate bodies, and public-spirited Nigerians who share the vision of
promoting quality education.
Activities
lined up for the celebration include a reunion and get-together of old
students, thanksgiving service, commissioning of developmental projects,
cultural and social displays, sporting competitions, public lectures, an awards
ceremony, as well as a grand dinner and entertainment session.
The Central
Planning Committee, chaired by Mr. Olunloyo Olabode, is spearheading
arrangements to ensure a memorable celebration that will not only honour the
school’s history but also lay a solid foundation for its future growth.
Other key
officials involved in the planning include Mr. Azeez Oladejo, Secretary of the
Central Planning Committee; Rev. Adepoju Ezekiel Babatunde, National President;
and Dr. Lasisi Yusuff Bolaji, National Secretary.
The committee emphasised that the anniversary celebration presents a unique opportunity for alumni, parents, corporate organisations, community stakeholders, and education advocates to contribute to the advancement of learning and youth development in Oyo and beyond.
Support can come in the form of sponsorship of projects,
educational materials, infrastructure development, scholarships, or financial
donations.
Members of the
public and friends of the institution are warmly invited to participate in the
historic celebration and partner with the school in sustaining its legacy of
excellence for future generations.
